How we earn revenue
GearProven participates in affiliate advertising programs. When you click a link on our site and make a purchase, we may earn a commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you.
We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
We may also participate in affiliate programs with other retailers. In all cases the relationship is the same — we earn a small commission if you buy through our link, and you pay nothing extra.
What this means for our rankings
Our affiliate relationships do not influence our rankings or recommendations. Here is what that means in practice:
- Products are ranked based on our research criteria — customer satisfaction, expert consensus, value, and availability
- We do not accept payment for placement in our top 10 lists
- We do not rank a product higher because it earns a higher commission
- A product we recommend would receive the same recommendation whether or not an affiliate program existed
If we wouldn't recommend a product to a friend, it doesn't appear on GearProven.
Sponsored content
Occasionally GearProven may feature sponsored placements or advertising from brands. Any sponsored content is clearly labeled as such. Sponsored placements are kept separate from our editorial rankings and do not influence the products we recommend or how we rank them.
